Two guides, one goal: a system you'll never regret

Solar is a 25-year decision. A little research up front is the cheapest insurance you'll ever buy.

Guide 01

How to research solar & battery companies on the Gold Coast

It's not about finding the cheapest quote — it's about finding a company that will still be here in year fifteen. Two ways to research:

Use AI tools

  • Ask an AI assistant to compare local installers on reviews, accreditation and longevity.
  • Cross-check anything it tells you against the sources on the right.

Check the fundamentals

  • Google Reviews — look for 4.8+ across a meaningful number of reviews.
  • Independent sites like SolarQuotes.com.au and local community forums.
  • CEC accreditation — non-negotiable.
  • A local office and their own install team — not a broker with subcontractors.

The best questions to ask any solar company

  • Who actually installs the system — your own team, or subcontractors?
  • How did you size this system — from my bill, or from how we actually use energy?
  • What exactly is covered by the workmanship warranty — and who honours it?
  • How long have you been operating locally, and can I see recent local installs?
  • Who do I call if something goes wrong in year five?
Guide 02

What to watch out for when choosing a solar company in QLD

Red flags

  • Pressure to sign on the spot
  • Quotes produced from your bill alone
  • Prices that look too good to be true
  • No CEC accreditation
  • Heavy reliance on subcontractors
  • Suspicious or purchased-looking reviews
  • No genuine local presence
  • Vague or evasive warranty answers
  • Oversized systems you don't need

What a reputable company does instead

  • Gives you time and space to decide
  • Designs from your actual usage patterns
  • Prices honestly for quality that lasts
  • Holds current CEC accreditation
  • Installs with its own local team
  • Earns reviews one install at a time
  • Has a real office you can walk into
  • Puts warranty terms in writing, plainly
  • Right-sizes the system for your home

A quick note on the federal battery rebate

The federal battery rebate now uses a tiered structure that steps down every six months from 1 May 2026. That's simply how the current landscape works — it's worth understanding, but it's no reason to rush a 25-year decision. We'll walk you through exactly what applies to your home in your consultation.
